Must complete the approved PSS training program within 6 months of hire. Must have valid Maine Drivers License and liability insurance\/registration if transporting clients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet col2\">\n<li>Assist clients with personal care activities, including but not limited to: bathing, mouth\/skin\/and hair care<\/li>\n<li>Observe Universal Precautions<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients to the bathroom, commode, or with the bedpan<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients with transfers and ambulation. (Use of gait belt when appropriate)<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients with laundry activities including washing, drying, folding, putting clothes away, changing bed linen, mending and ironing clothing<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients with meals, including but not limited to cooking, setting up, feeding, storing meals, washing, and putting away dishes<\/li>\n<li>Remind clients to take medications<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients with shopping, including but not limited to: grocery shopping and personal shopping<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients with transportation to medical appointments, hairdresser, shopping, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Document each visit and include client\u2019s signature, your signature, title (PSS), and date<\/li>\n<li>Turn in completed and accurate time sheets as directed<\/li>\n<li>Attend mandated training meetings as determined by management<\/li>\n<li>Take turns to keep the main office clean and tidy, including, but not limited to, wiping down the kitchen and bathroom areas, vacuuming, and dusting<\/li>\n<li>Provide companionship to clients when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical\/Emotional Effort Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet col2\">\n<li>Regular standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crouching, reaching<\/li>\n<li>Regular pushing\/pulling of wheelchairs across tiled\/carpeted surfaces<\/li>\n<li>Regular lifting or turning clients which usually weigh between 100-300kg with assistive devices (gait belt\/mechanical lift).
